TaipeiLove*: The Documentary

  • "Love comes in all forms and colours"

    In 2018, I was commissioned by the director Lucie Liu to design and illustrator a poster for the award-winning documentary, Taipeilove* - an intimate portrayal of Taiwan's unique journey towards same-sex marriage and equality.

    Taiwan has become the first country in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage and implement equal rights for same-sex couples into it's civil code. This documentary is a testimony that shows how history is currently being written in Taiwanese society and Lucie Liu is the first European filmmaker to be tackling that topic.

Upstream

  • Upstream is an award-winning Taiwanese film directed by David Chuang in 2017, and produced by Serendipity Films in collaboration with Public Television Service Originals. It tells a story about the significant pollution caused by a petrochemical factory in Yunlin, Taiwan.

    I created two movie posters to reflect the distinctive tone of the movie. This included the main character, the mayor of Yunlin, who profited from this project, only to become a hostage of his own greed and trapped by the blood and smoke he created.
